Magical Myanmar features the overland expeditions to the south of Myanmar in Mon State to Kyaikhtiyo - Golden Rock, the well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site; Mawlamyaing, the trading centre of south eastern Myanmar with multicultural dimension; and in Kayin State to the capital Pa An and the environs of the mystical natural caves, rain forests, paddy fields, and toddy and rubber plantations.

Day 1 Yangon - Bago - Kyaikhtiyo
Breakfast at the Hotel. Begin the overland journey to Bago. En route, visit the Allied War Graves cemetery near Htauk Kyan and the 55-meter-long reclining Shwethalyaung Pagoda and Shwemawdaw Pagoda in Bago. Proceed to Kyaiktiyo (the "Golden Rock"), a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaves and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. From the base camp of Kin Pun, take a private local truck about half way up the mountain and continue walking up steep paths to the summit. As an easier alternative to walking, the sedan chairs carried by a group of four porters could be arranged. Relax and enjoy the beauty of sunset from atop of Kyaikhtiyo. Day 2 Kyaikhtiyo - Thaton - Hpa An
Breakfast at the Hotel. Depart from Kyaiktiyo for Hpa An, the capital of Kayin State via Thaton, the former capital of the Mon Kingdom. Stop by at the Bayint Nyi natural cave and Kawgoon cave with impressive wall carvings and Buddha images of the 7th century. Arrive Hpa An after crossing the bridge over Thanlwin River. Sightseeing continue in Hpa An to Kyaikalatt, the most visited rock hillock and Lombumni Garden at the base of Mt. Zawekabin. Enjoy sunset at Shweyinmyaw Pagoda. Overnight at a Hotel in Hpa An.
Day 3 Hpa-An - Katoe Kotnet - Mawlamyine
Breakfast at hotel. Continue to drive to Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State. En route, stop in at Katoe Kotnet, once a township which was flourished and well-developed by a local timber and steamship entrepreneur U Nar Aout. Arrive Mawlamyine and check-in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing continues with visit to the Mahamuni Pagoda; Seindon Mibaya Kyaung, where King Mindon's wife sought refuge; the Kyaikthanlan Pagoda (known as the Kipling Pagoda); and the nearby View Point on the mountain range to enjoy beautiful sunset. Overnight at a Hotel in Mawlamyine.
Day 4 Mawlamyine
Breakfast at the Hotel. Set out for an hour drive by the Mawlamyine-Mudon Road to a small town of Mudon, the fertile land of numerous seasonal fruits and rubber plantations and Pa Auk Forest Monestry, famous for its unique teachings of the method of meditation. Return to Mawlamyine in the afternoon. After a short break, visit the Mon State National Museum, where traditional music instruments, clothes and old Mon language scripts are displayed. At leisure in the evening. Overnight at a Hotel in Mawlamyine.
Day 5 Mawlamyine - Yangon
Breakfast at the Hotel. Visit the local Zegyi market in the morning before leaving Mawlamyine through the Thaton-Mottama Road to Yangon. En route, visit Zinkyaik Waterfall and Shwesaryan Pagoda in Thanton. Arrive Yangon in the late afternoon. At leisure in the evening. Overnight at a Hotel in Yangon.
