Sail along the Ayeyarwaddy River onboard RV Paukan for upstream riverine cruise to Mandalay. Visit ancient capitals Amarapura, Innwa (Ava) and the colonial hill station Pyin Oo Lwin around Mandalay. Continue by domestic flight to exquisite Lake Inle and discover floating gardens, floating markets and observe leg rowers of the area. Return to Yangon and enjoy some last minute shopping. Conclude your journey with international departure for onward destinations.


Day  1        Arrival Yangon                             

Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Meet  and  assist  at the airport and transfer to the Hotel. Free at leisure in the evening. Overnight at The Strand, the legendary Victorian-styled hotel with the charms of the 1920s, in Yangon.


Day 2         Yangon                                          

Breakfast at the Hotel. Travel in style for full day tour by Elephant Coach and visit the national heritages and colonial architecture of downtown Yangon; the  Kandawgyi Park and Karaweik  Royal  Barge  on  the  peaceful  Royal  Lake;  the enormous reclining Buddha of Chaukhtatgyi; and the glittering  Shwedagon  Pagoda  with  its  amazing  mix  of  pavilions,  stupas,  images  and  bells. Overnight at The Strand, Yangon.


Day 3         Yangon - Bagan

Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Bagan. Arrive Bagan and check-in at the Hotel. Sightseeing around the great plains of Bagan includes the Anada temple of four huge standing Buddha images and numerous figures in niches around the galleried interior; the golden stupa of Shwezigone Pagoda built by King Anawrahta; the Thatbyinnyu known as ‘temple of omniscience’; and the Dhammayangyi, the most massive temple famous for its interlocking brickwork.Highlights of the day also include the famous  lacquerware  works  of  Bagan. Observe the sunset in the vicinity of one of Bagan's ancient monuments and experience the horse cart ride in the evening. Overnight at Bagan Thiripyistaya Sanctuary Resort in old Bagan on the banks of Ayeyarwaddy river.


Day 4         Bagan

Enjoy a sunrise Champagne Balloon flight over Bagan with an early morning start. Return to the Hotel for breakfast. Visit the Tayokepyay temple and Min Nan Thu village to observe the village life and the traditional methods of extracting ground-nut oil; Phaya Thonezu and Nanda-pyin-nya Temples noted for exquisite murals of the 13th century; and the colourful Nyaung Oo Market with varieties of local produce. A short break in the afternoon and continue to Myinkaba area. Highlights include Gubyaukgyi Temple with its fine stucco work; Nanpaya Temple, built in the Mon style with intricate stone carvings; Manuha temple with gigantic Buddha images, a captive king's impression of life in prison. Enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River from Bupaya Pagoda. Overnight at Bagan Thiripyistaya Sanctuary Resort, Bagan.


Day 5         Bagan - Mandalay onboard RV Paukan
Breakfast at the Hotel. Embark RV Paukan at 11:30 am at Aye Yar Jetty for upstream rivering cruise to Mandalay. Entertain by Welcome Cocktail in the Saloon and cast off at 12 noon. Full board for accommodation in a twin cabin inclusive of lunch, dinner, tea and coffee onboard RV Paukan. Stop in at a typical river village in the late afternoon and overnight.

Day 6         Bagan - Mandalay onboard RV Paukan

Cruise all day and stopover at Yandabo Village on the way for onshore excursion. Observe the making and production of terracotta from the riverbank clay, visit local houses and the monastery. Continue sailing upstream and moor overnight at a nearby village (Ywar Thit Gyi or Pauk Myaing Pauk Taw), which is a few miles away from Ava Bridge. Enjoy dinner with entertainment on the sundeck. Overnight onboard RV Paukan.


Day 7         Mandalay - Sagaing - Ava  
Enjoy the sunrise and breakfast onboard. Disembark RV Paukan either at Sagaing Jetty or Gawein jetty at around 09.30 am and continue sightseeing around Sagaing. Proceed to Ava and embark on a horse cart to visit a brick and stucco monastery called Maha Aungmyae Bonzan (also known as Ok Kyaung), Nanmyin Watch Tower, the old wooden monastery of Bagaya Kyaung and the remains of this former Royal Palace. Return to Mandalay and overnight at Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel, Mandalay.


Day 8         Mandalay - Amarapura 

Breakfast at the Hotel. Excursion to Amarapura in the morning and visit famous Mahagandayon Monastery; the spectacular teak bridge of U Bein; and a local silk-weaving factory. Return to Mandalay. Half day sightseeing in Mandalay includes the  Kuthodaw  Pagoda with its 729 marble stone stabs of Buddhist scriptures; the  Mahamuni  Pagoda,  revered  as one  of  the  holiest  pagodas  in  Myanmar;  the Golden Palace (Shwe Kyaung) monastery, the beautiful teak monastery famous for its intricate wood carvings; and workshop of traditional  gold-leaf  making  and  embroidery  works. Enjoy  the  magnificent  view  of  the  sunset  and  the  surrounding  countryside  from  atop the Mandalay Hill.  Overnight at Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel, Mandalay.


Day 9         Mandalay - Pyin Oo Lwin   
Breakfast at the Hotel. Enjoy 2-hour drive through scenic routes to Pyin Oo Lwin (Maymyo), the former British hill station. Observe the architecture of its colonial brick and timber houses with British names, the old clock tower, and its local market. Sightseeing around the town in an antique horse-drawn carriage is also a must. Visit the National Kandawgyi Gardens, a lush green grass land dotted with beds of various multicoloured flowers, natural forests, tiers of lakes and lawns. Overnight at Aureum Resort @ Governor’s House Pyin Oo Lwin.


Day 10       Pyin Oo Lwin - Mandalay

Breakfast at the Hotel. Excursion to Dat Taw Gyaint Resort for a short trek down to the foothill of the waterfall passing through the jungle for 1 hour accompanied by a local guide. Experience scenic view of the surroundings and enjoy picnic lunch at the bamboo tent near the waterfall. Relax for a while and or have a brisk revitalizing swim and return to Dat tAw Gyaint Resort. Return to Mandalay in the late afternoon. Arrive Mandalay and at leisure in the evening. Overnight at Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel, Mandalay.

Day 11       Mandalay - Heho - Lake Inle      
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Heho. Arrive Heho and proceed by road to the old capital of Shan State, Nyaung Shwe. Continue by boat to the Hotel. Observe the floating gardens and Inn Thar style, unique one legged method of fishing along the way. Overnight at Inle Princess Resort, Lake Inle.


Day 12       Inle
Breakfast at the Hotel. Set out for a fascinating boat ride to In-Dein village through the In-Dein creek. Explore the In-Dein Pagoda complex of hundreds of Shan style stupas dating back to the 16th century. Highlights of excursion for the day also include Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most sacred shrine in the southern Shan States; the weaving village of Impawkhon; blacksmith, cheroot making and other traditional handicrafts workshops at Nan Pan village; the famous "Nge Phe Chaung" monastery with beautiful collection of antique Buddha statues. Overnight at Inle Princess Resort, Lake Inle.


Day 13       Inle - Heho - Yangon 
Breakfast at the Hotel. Transfer to Nyaung Shwe by boat and continue to Heho Airport by road for domestic flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon and transfer to the Hotel. At leisure in the afternoon and enjoy a dinner at                   Le Planteur Restaurant for the unique fine dining experience in Yangon. Overnight at The Governor's Residence, Yangon.


Day 14       Departure Yangon     
Breakfast at the Hotel. Explore the sprawling Bogyoke Aung San Market (SCOTT Market) with its abundance of stalls selling gems & jewellery, lacquareware, wood carvings, silverware, paintings & other handicraft for some last minute shopping. At leisure till transfer to Yangon International Airport for international departure.
